Southwell Sprint Triathlon - 4th May 2008
A large contingent from LTC turned up to race this popular race with nearly 500 competitors. The weather stayed fine and there were some fast times posted. The top 3 men in the race broke the course record that was held by a certain Will Clarke.
Well done to Rhona who won her age group and Kat who came second in the same age group.

National Duathlon Champs
The National Duathlon Champs took place at Milton Keynes today with some good weather and good results for the 10km/40km/5km race.
Phil Makepeace had a strong race finishing in 39th place with a time of 2.02.55 with splits of 32.20/1.10.49/18.08. Phil was actually quicker than the race winner for both run splits and 3rd quickest on the 1st run!!
Louise Kelly has started the season well and also had a great race finishing 140th overall (8th female, 3rd AG) in a time of 2.15.01 with splits of 37.39/1.14.55/21.22.
Ashfield Road Club 2 up Team Time Trial 13th April
Leicester Triathlon club had 6 teams (2 composites) at this event. It was very tight with only 2 seconds between the first 2 teams for the club. The club picked up the first female team prize, 15th place and the lantern Rouge. As there were so many of us entered we also had a club prize for the first LTC team which went to the fat boys...

Chase Race Duathlon Race 3 - April 6th
Well done to those who turned up to race in the snow at Cannock. The race had to be put back an hour and shortened due to the poor conditions. The new distances were 5km/20km/2.5km.

Trybike Chilly Duathlon - March 9th
Well done to Nathaniel Walker who finished 2nd in the Trybike Chilly Duathlon at Castle Combe in Wiltshire on March 9th.
He finished in a time of 46.08 just 18 seconds behind the winner for the 3.2km/16.1km/3.2km race.
Parbold Duathlon 16th March 2008
Searching through the results from the weekend I noticed that Louise Kelly was in winning form again finishing 1st Female and 25th overall in the Parbold Duathlon in a time of 1.39.33 with splits of 19.42/59.44/20.07

Sutton Bonington Duathlon 14th Oct 2007
A few of the club went along and raced the Sutton Bonington Duathlon on Sunday. The results for the 5km/20km/5km course were:
Johnny Nicol 19.37/37.45/20.54 for a time of 1.18.16 in 12th place overall and 2nd in his Age Group.
Alfonso Jimenez 19.04/51.41/26.25 for a time of 1.37.10 in 30th place. Alfonso did however do an extra 5km lap on the bike course!
In the Junior race Ben Haston came 2nd in his race with a time of 38.41. Not too sure on the distances for his age group but well done Ben.

Robin Hood Half Marathon 16th Sept 2007
Neil Lemmon did the half in 1:55:03 and Darren (sorry dont know your second name) did it in 2:14:28.

Xterra, Wales, 16th Sept 2007
Well done to Graeme Hornsby who competed in the Xterra race in Wales at the weekend, his times were:
20.24/1.52.10/1.13.40 for a time of 3.26.13 giving him 74th place and 15th in his age category.
Graeme said of the race, "In terms of a race report, the swim was short but in good water. The bike was a good mixture off forest fire roads and technical singletrack and very lumpy. When I saw the run course included rope work to get up a climb I kind of guessed it would be challenging terrain too! Really good venue and a pleasant change to race off road. Highly recommended for something different."

Congratulations to Natalie Antkowiak who followed up her great result on the Sat at Northampton by winning the South Charnwood Charity Triathlon on the Sunday.
She finished with a time of 1.11.16 to finish 1st Female and 17th overall from a field of 205.

Well done to Mark White and Gary Harrison who competed at IMUK at Sherbourne at the weekend. The course is renowned for being one of the toughest in the world so well done guys.
There splits were:
Mark 54.45/5.24.37/3.07.17 for an overall time of 9.31.46 to finish in an impressive 26th position.

National Club Relay Championships 11th August 2007
Well done to everybody who competed in the Club Relays. There was a great turnout from the club and I think everybody had a great day.

Hungarton 7 LRRL
Well done to Kieran Grundy and Gary Harrison who ran for Leicester Tri Club at the Hungarton 7, Kieran finished in a time of 49.39 in 171st place and Gary finished in a time of 52.59. Gary ran with his 15 year old son who is also a member of Leicester Tri Club but runs for Barrow runners and his son is now looking for his forst tri to compete in.
Wakefield Olympic Triathlon Results 2007
Well done to Louise Kelly, Sadie Murphy and Stephen Taylor who competed at the Wakefield Triathlon which was also the National Standard Distance Triathlon.
Louise finished 188th overall and 8th in her age group in a time of 2.32.07 with splits of 26.40/1.20.08/41.50.

Congratulations to Louise Kelly who took the Silver medal in her age group and was 4th Female overall (132nd including the men).

Well done to Phil Makepeace, Kat Kemp and Sadie Murphy who competed at the Shropshire Olympic Triathlon on 10th June.
Phil's times were 33.58/1.10.14/35.56 finishing 259th overall with the 16th quickest run time.
Kat's times were 30.17/1.11.42/44.14 finishing 336th overall and 4th in her age group.
Sadie's times were 27.47/1.14.24/48.33 finishing 399th overall.
Grantham and Bedford Sprint Triathlon Results
Well done to John Golding who finished 25th in the Grantham Tri with a time of 1:07:07 and Ruth Welsh who finished 33rd in a time of 1:09:01 from a field of 115.
Sam Winters again won her 35-39 age group in a time of 1:18:53 at the Bedford Sprint. She finished 61st overall from a field of 178.

British Schools National Time Trial
British Schools Cycling Association National Time Trial & Circuit Race Championships at Darley Moor 26/27th May hosted by Matlock CC - the weekend events attracted competitors from all over the country, catering for riders from under 8's to over 16's. Kim North rode her U16 10 miles TT in 28:58 earning her the bronze medal narrowly missing silver by 3 seconds. Sunday all change with the weather for the circuit races, blowing a gale & horizontal rain Kim finished 2nd in her U16 10 mile circuit race way ahead of the 3rd place girl (who won silver in the TT) earning her a silver medal. Well done Kim.

Natalie Antowiak finished 2nd in the her age group and 4th Female overall and Ruth Welsh finished 1st in her age group and 5th Female overall.

Belfast Marathon
Well done to Julie McFarland who completed the Belfast Marathon in just over 5 hours 9 minutes on the 7th May. Not bad for someone who only started running a year ago hey?
Hinckley Half Marathon 2007
Well done to all of those who ran the Hinckley half marathon in the rain. When they say the winner was miles ahead they were not kidding as Tim Hartley won the race in a new course record time of 1.07.34 over a mile ahead of second place!! :shock:

Ashbourne Duathlon 2007 British Duathlon Champs
Well done to Phil Makepeace and Louise Kelly who competed in the Ashbourne Duathlon 2007 British Duathlon Championships.
Phil Makepeace finished 67th overall and 7th in the M40-44 age group with a time of 2:21:46. His splits were 43:46 (8th)/1:24:16 (120th)/13:42 (16th) for the 12km/40km/4km course.
Louise Kelly finished 159th overall and 3rd in the F25-29 age group with a time of 2:37:23. Her splits were 54:32 (160th)/1:27:13 (157th)/15:36 (80th).

Racing conditions were almost perfect for the first sprint triathlon of the season at Duston, Northants and attracted nearly 300 competitors.
